Wanna know what the best calling in the church is?! Well, it is Primary Singing Time Leader!
Since we moved to Vermont (2 yrs ago) I have been in the Primary and I have been chorister for 19 months of those 24. I got a call at like 9:30 pm on Saturday night from a counselor in the bishopric and I knew what he wanted, there was really no other reason for him to be calling me. When I went into the room with him Sunday morning I just started crying before he said anything and I couldn't stop for about 20 minutes. I had to go sit in the Mother's Lounge for a while. I knew this day had to come eventually, I couldn't be the Essex Ward Primary Chorister forever, but I wasn't looking forward to it.
I have no musical abilities and my voice is terrible, as anyone currently in primary can attest to. When I was first asked to be Primary Chorister I thought the Primary President (my sweet friend Carrie) must have lost it because I'm not creative, good with kids or musical. Well after about 2 weeks of doing it I decided it was going to be the best calling ever and I have LOVED it ever since! It was a lot of work planning a singing time lesson every week, but man I love those kids. And I love the Primary songs so so so much. They have such simple, sweet and straight-forward messages.
Now I can focus more on my second calling, Relief Society Compassionate Service. Maybe I'll do a better job at it now that I have so much free time =)

I'm still kind of dumbfounded about the whole thing. I'll miss not having you in Primary, you were so incredible!
That was one of my favorite callings too. So fun.
I'm also the Compassionate Service coordinator now - we are like calling twins.
You are so good at that calling! We'll miss having you in there.
Haha Janssen that is too funny!! I know, Sara, I kind of feel like I had whip kash from the whole thing. I had NO idea that was going to happen.
You were both the primary chorister & the compassionate service leader? Wow! Impressive!
Ya sara, most people have a few callings out here.
